Shipping Policy

PitN Shipping Policy

We aim to get your parts to you as quickly and safely as possible. Because automotive components vary from small fuses to large body panels, the following terms apply to all shipments.

1. Shipping Methods & Rates

  • Standard Ground: For items under 150 lbs. and within standard size limits.

  • LTL Freight: For oversized or heavy items (e.g., engines, transmissions, bumpers, or hoods). These require a loading dock or a forklift; if you require a liftgate for residential delivery, additional fees will apply.

  • Expedited Shipping: Available for select items at an additional cost. Note that "Next Day" refers to the time in transit after the part has left our warehouse.

2. Hazardous Materials (Hazmat)

Certain automotive parts are classified as dangerous goods by the DOT. This includes:

  • Batteries: Must be shipped via ground transport only.

  • Fluids: Oils, coolants, and brake fluids are subject to specific leak-proof packaging requirements and cannot be shipped via air.

  • Airbags & Seatbelt Pretensioners: These contain pyrotechnic charges and require specialized Hazmat labeling and ground-only shipping.

Note: We cannot ship Hazmat items to P.O. Boxes, APO/FPO addresses, or internationally.

3. Inspection & Delivery (The "Freight Rule")

Important: For freight shipments (large parts), you must inspect the package before the driver leaves.

  • If the box is visibly crushed, torn, or punctured, you must note "DAMAGED" on the Bill of Lading (BOL) before signing.

  • If you sign for a freight shipment without noting damage, the carrier will deny any subsequent damage claims.

  • Concealed Damage: If you find damage after opening the box, you must report it to us within 48 hours of delivery.

4. Shipping Restrictions

  • Liquids: We do not ship engines or transmissions containing fluids. All such parts are drained prior to shipping.

  • International Shipping: Customers are responsible for all customs duties, taxes, and import fees. We do not provide refunds for items abandoned at customs due to unpaid fees.

  • Redirecting Packages: Once a shipment is in transit, we cannot change the delivery address.
